Membership in the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is established through lineal bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in the achievement of American Independence from England. Necessary for an individual's membership is documentation of each generation's birth, marriage and death from the applicant back to the person who provided assistance or fought in the War for Independence.
Minisink Chapter members are available to assist those interested in joining the NSDAR and in obtaining the required information.
Participation in the Minisink Chapter's activities is on an individual basis and can range from full involvement and attendance at meetings and in project activities, to simply being a member unable to attend due to family or work commitments. Many do work from home, at the chapter or national level via the computer, doing research, data input, indexing, and many other activities. Many do research for other DAR members out of the area. Of course, the more involved you are and the more you do, the more you get out of the whole experience.
